Packing List
TREK BUCKETS
This is your suitcase and your “chair” for the duration of the trek. The bucket can be decorated and have a covered cushion on top. It should be well-labeled with your name.
Buckets with a screw-on lid are recommended.
PACKING LIST
Each person attending the Trek will be allowed one trash bag and one bucket.
Your trash bags will be checked-in on Tuesday, July 25. at the Stake Center and be left for loading. The Stake will transport bags of sleeping gear and tents.
Bring your bucket on the morning of Wednesday, July 26. They will go on the bus with you.
REMEMBER: Label Everything!
If it gets lost, we can return it to you.
Plastic Garbage Bag
The following items must fit into the bag, leaving at least 6 inches above the tie-off for handling:
1 warm sleeping bag, to 40 degrees at night
1 old blanket, wool if possible
1 jacket/sweatshirt, to 40 degrees at night
1 Pillow if desired
1 Sleeping pad, if desired. No cots!
Leave at Home
Cell phones or any other electronics
Baseball caps
T-shirts, tank tops, blue jeans
Canned drinks
Candy
Weapons of any type
Perfumes
The following Items are to be packed in your bucket
1 Water Bottle or Camel Bak
1 rain poncho or plastic garbage bag
1 pair of old tennis shoes for the river crossing & walking through mud
1 pair of shoes to hike in; make sure they are comfortable and fit well
4 pairs of sturdy socks, wool is recommended
4 pairs of thin sock liners if desired
4 sets of underclothing
Wide-brimmed hat or bonnet
Extra clothing: see clothing guidelines
1 small hand towel and washcloth
1 small bar of soap
1 comb or brush
1 toothbrush and trial-size toothpaste
1 old Book of Mormon, a journal and a pen
1 Chapstick
1 sunscreen, at least SPF 30
1 deodorant
1 flashlight with spare batteries
1 pair of soft leather work gloves for pushing/pulling the handcart
Contact lens wearers are encouraged to wear glasses if possible
Sunglasses (if desired)
Insect repellant (if desired)
Spray bottle and/or neck cooler (if desired)
Lotion (if desired)
Inexpensive camera-not a phone (if desired)
Feminine products as needed
Medication as needed
Moleskin and other first aid supplies (if desired)
