Ward Supplies and Responsibilities
Ward Supplies
Each ward must provide the tents that will be used by their wards.
Each tent should hold four or more youth. Youth cannot sleep by themselves or in pairs. Assignments should be made for sleeping arrangements by wards. If needed, combine youth from different families and/or wards to ensure that there are at least four youth per tent (any exceptions should be cleared with a Stake leader).
Each Ma and Pa is responsible for bringing the following for their family
2, 5-Gallon Water Jugs
Cooler to store lunches each day
Tote to store first aid kit and other sundry items needed on the trail
Ward Flag Color Assignments
Each family within the ward should make one 2-foot by 3-foot flag out of cotton fabric. The purpose of the flags is to allow us to keep track of the handcarts that we have been specifically assigned by the missionaries at Sixth Crossing, Rocky Ridge, and Martin’s Cove. Each flag should be attached to the end of a 3/4 inch pole or PVC pipe that is 5-6 feet long. The flag will be secured to your handcart. Each ward has been assigned a color (see color assignments below). Most wards will need to make more than one flag of the same color for each of their families. The Family members are asked to decorate the flag as part of a youth activity.
